About Emmaus Catholic School

Welcome to Emmaus Catholic School, a place where faith, belonging, and discovery come together on a shared journey of learning. As a K–9 Catholic school rooted in Gospel values and open to students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, Emmaus is more than a school—it is a community where every student is known, valued, and supported to thrive.

Why “Emmaus”?

Our school is named after the powerful story in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:13–35), where two disciples walk the road to a village called Emmaus. Along the way, they are joined by the risen Christ, though they do not recognize Him at first. As they walk together, talk, and share their hearts, their eyes are eventually opened—in the breaking of the bread—and they come to see that Christ was with them all along.

This story captures the heart of who we are as a school. At Emmaus Catholic School, we walk alongside our students, families, and each other in faith. We believe that transformation happens through relationship, reflection, and shared experience. Our classrooms are places of encounter—where questions are welcomed, growth is nurtured, and Christ is present in every moment of learning and connection.

The road to Emmaus is also a symbol of life-long learning and spiritual awakening. It reminds us that Christ meets us where we are, speaks our language, and reveals Himself as we walk together in trust. In the same way, our school values every child’s unique journey, and we strive to create an environment where students can grow not only in knowledge, but also in faith, character, and community.

A Multilingual, Multicultural Catholic Community

Emmaus Catholic School is proud to be a multilingual school, offering learning opportunities in more than one language and welcoming students from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. We believe that language is a gift, a means of connection, and a reflection of the many ways God’s love is expressed throughout the world.

In our classrooms, students engage in rich, inclusive learning experiences that celebrate both linguistic diversity and Catholic faith. Multilingual education allows students to build strong communication skills, deepen cultural understanding, and expand their sense of belonging—both locally and globally.

We embrace the truth that the Body of Christ is made up of many members, each with unique gifts and identities. Our multicultural school environment reflects the global Church and encourages empathy, respect, and collaboration. Whether a student speaks English, French, Tagalog, Arabic, Spanish, Cree, or another language at home, they are welcomed as a vital part of the Emmaus family.

Our Mission

To walk together in Christ-centered learning, rooted in faith, dignity, and inclusion. We support every child to grow in wisdom, deepen their relationship with God, and become compassionate contributors to the world.

Our Vision

That every student may encounter Christ, belong fully, and be transformed through the journey of Catholic education.

Our Motto: Where Christ Walks With Us
Inspired by the road to Emmaus, our motto reflects the heart of our school—a place where learning and faith unfold together. Just as Christ walked alongside the disciples, we believe He walks with us each day: in our questions, our relationships, and our growth. At Emmaus, we seek to recognize Him in one another, knowing we are never alone on the journey.
